Margit Borst-Topper from “Zilver en Zo” in Dieverbrug has promised herself to be allowed to participate at least one training each year.

We still have a large part of the festive month of December ahead of us and already in 2016 shows her to have been a good year.

Reason why she exactly 3 months ago from 3 to 5 September participated in the Art Clay Silver Quilling training and now from 3 to 5 December she’s present for the New Mokume-Gane training.

With both techniques, she has affinity.
The delicate Quilling with Art Clay Silver Paper Type has already delivered her beautiful designs.
Getting started now with a more robust technique.
Using robust in the sense of a proper amount of metal clay to finally get the perfect blend.
This will create 6 beautiful designs.
The leftovers turn out well for several additional jewelry.
Think of earrings, pendants or rings.

Passionately, she works out all assignments. And with a minimal use of silver and copper clay, well done! Margit is a dedicated colleague and between the activities she allows herself no real breaks. Therefore the lunch time sometimes shifts to a later time than originally planned.

The final day is used for finishing the jewelry.
Everything is well formed and remained properly during firing.

Before she starts finishing, we first experiment some with glass.
Between various pieces we put some shapes of gold leaf and fired polished Art Clay Silver Paper Type.
And these glascabochons became pretty fun, just look!
The New Mokume-Gane pieces are beautiful, you can be justifiably proud Margit!
Quite contrarian - as you say – instead earrings, you've now a beautiful pendant and a ring with the Cross Pattern (Jyumonji) technique.

Dear Margit, thanks for your warm and motivated input.
I respect how you contribute Metal Clay.
We'll keep in touch. In advance a Merry Christmas and a magnificent 2017!
