Today we travel into the direction of Veghel, how fun is that!
The weather is still good, despite the negative forecast.
This meeting of the Masters, we are invited into the studio of Joyce van Roosmalen, Joy for Art Veghel.
A beautiful renovated bright location, spacious and filled with our chatter and all kinds of goodies, we get through the day.
Present: Joyce van Roosmalen, Renske Dussel, Inge Verbruggen, Ria Marinussen, Yolanda Nieuwboer,
Noortje Meijerink, Barbera Ploeg, Laila Baker, Helga van Leipsig and myself. Hennie Broers, Edith van Leeuwen, Nathalie Verkaart and Arnolda de Nooy have opted out for today.
After the arrival with coffee, tea and all kinds of goodies we start working with UV-Resin. For me this is not exactly unexplored territory, and yet today I get additional knowledge. For optimal results, it’s very important to get a particularly neat gloss finish, indeed a component for me. After all polishing is "my middle name", haha.
During the lunch break Joyce surprises us with delicious pastries, sandwiches, assisted by fruit juice. Yummy!
After this break, we discuss the situation regarding to everyone's progress for the Masters Registry. The main reasons for not yet sending pieces to America, are lack of time and cost. Some of us conclude that we can’t criticize as sufficient, the projects that have been completed some time ago. This means that we are making progress.
The next meeting is scheduled soon and will take place again at Noortje in Oss. That day we are going to self-evaluate. How to interpret the text of the projects? Why do you think it’s a good design? How do you criticize certain techniques? How do I distinguish myself from others or what makes my work recognized? We take own project(s) with us to evaluate them. It's all about learning how to look.
I understand that I still will have to believe in the system. My intentionis to look at all my papers and offer a wide selection. After the criticisms I probably may dare to assemble a shipment and thereby make a first toss to the Registry 1?
Wish me luck!
