only by myself. No, together with 14 colleagues from the Metal Clay business. We followed the masterclasses of Pam East. Enameling on Art Clay Silver was for Saturday and Sunday on the program. 2nd Easter Day and Tuesday we have been taught Enameling on Art Clay Copper.
Pam is from Atlanta - Georgia - United States and has been invited by Inge Verbruggen to teach us her skills in the field of enameling on metal clay. She has many years of experience and travels throughout the world to share her knowledge.
I can ride with Renske in the direction of Bornem, so I make sure I'm in De Bilt on time, so we can leave at 07.45. It's pretty quiet on the road and we are well on time. Inge has done its utmost to specify the route to the course room as clear as possible so it is easy to find.
Pam sleep these days in the house of the parents of Inge. And Renske and Igot the offer to stay overnight there as well, particular sweet.
Gradually also the other colleagues drip inside the class and we can start. 4 wonderful days full of silver, copper and enamel. During the masterclasses we get presented all the ins and outs of the application of enamel on silver and copper. Pam has great knowledge. And she likes to share, she is an open book, a fantastic Metal Clay artist. If you readers want to view this wonderful experience I can only refer to the shared attached photo gallery.
Obviously Inge has also thought of the inward woman. Daily at noon adelicious lunch is served and prepared of sandwiches, chocolate rolls, cheeses and cold meats. Dinner ranges from Italian to Spanish served in neat restaurants. More than delicious and super cozy. Small detail: the next morning your tongue is stuck to your palate, my God, what a garlic. Blissful !!
To celebrate the Easter and the beautiful weather we treat ourselves to ice on Monday afternoon. Across the training room is a small restaurant where we order the coupes, which we have to wait for at least 45 minutes. We had no clue about the delay, but in Belgium it’s possible to lose the ice scoop, hahaha. After our “complaint” over the waiting time, this problem appears to be resolved quickly. Suddenly the coupes are served, a huge size, with balls the size of a soup spoon, great!!
Annick de Keijser, Hennie Kemper, Hilde Vlassenbroek, Katty van der Elst, Patricia Brenni, Tania Hooghe and Valerie Otten leave on Sunday. They have just registered for enameling on silver. Aline Nguyen, Inge Verbruggen, Ingrid de Ryck, Karen Christiaens, Renske Dussel,S ulie Girardi and I stay until Tuesday to also get mastered enameling copper.
Everyone makes beautiful pendants and earrings, and at the end they return home very pleased. Pam flies the next
day to Prague and teaches the same masterclasses in the studio of Jana Vasela. I hope to see the other colleagues again, upcoming Sunday at the Art Clay Silver Instructors day in Temse.
Ladies, thank you all for the extremely pleasant days.
Pam, I've learned a lot from you. Success and "UP" to Prague (squirrel!)
Inge, you are a wonderful hostess with a good organizational ability. The coffee is getting better ;-)
And of course Renske, thank you for the lift and your patience as my roommate. Our conversations are and
always remain dear to me!
