Warm Silver

8/28/2016

This year August is warm and sunny, and usually such temperatures lend themselves less to work with metal clay. This doesn’t dissuade Eugenie van Dam van Isselt following a training to become certified Art Clay Silver Instructor Level 1. Today she closes her 3rd and final day.

Eugenie is a cozy quiet lady, familiar with silversmiths.
She is curious about the possibilities of silver clay.
And we both enjoyed this discovery tour.
Eugenie made beautiful jewelry, and I fully enjoyed her enthusiastic efforts.
Look at these beautiful pieces.
Dear Eugenie, I am convinced that you’re able to personalize your skills.
Soon you go on to Level 2, followed by the Higher Level.
Welcome to the Benelux Instructor Network!

Open Door Day KreativiteitsCentrum “De Brink” Nijkerk

Also this academic year 2016/2017, KreativiteitsCentrum "The Brink" in Nijkerk offers a workshop silver clay planned on December 10, 2016. And today I am present at the open day from 10:00 to 15:00.
From 08.00 there is opportunity to build and decorate the tables for workshops and courses. So also this Saturday I get up early, have breakfast and jump into the car. It is still quiet on the road, so that at 08.30 I step inside the building.

The weather is beautiful, warm summery, with a lovely sunshine. Will there be visitors who still like to take a look? Yes surely, and even more than initially expected. Not particularly busy, but it runs nice.

At 15.00, the open day ends. I skip the common drinks and decide to enjoy at home a moment of this wonderful day.

I have every confidence in next season, certainly several students will take back home a lovely selfmade piece of jewelry. Do you also want to subscribe? Have a look at the courses offered through this link: http://www.debrink.org

Yes I Do - An Adventure in Hongkong

I am blessed to have four children.
The three oldest are boys and the youngest is a girl.

With my 2nd son Thierry Christophe, I have always had a special bond.
During his adolescence he has to design me sometimes asked jewelry, which he then did present to a girlfriend. That was jewelry whereby I myself was given a free hand in the design.

This past year I made a pendant to his request for his great love Melody Kong. He has had a great input during the creation of the first gift, and I've made it with love and fun.

Now I was again asked to design. This time, Thierry asked me to make a wedding gift. I hear anyone reading this thinking. . . And wedding rings than? Yes, the rings too !!!! They are to his design and for the necklace I only got commissioned to place a moonstone in it.

Today they marry, in the far distant Hongkong, the country where he continues his future with Melody. I can’t be there, but my mother's heart glows with pride! Dear Thierry and Melody, once again I want to congratulate you with your most beautiful day. I wish you all happiness, health and love and hope I can cuddle the both of you again soon.
And remember:
Life is too short. So don’t count every second, but make sure every second counts!
Love you both, till the moon and back. Xxxxx

Killing free time with Quilling

Today Renske and I have our last meeting for the upcoming certified training Art Clay Silver Quilling.
A final check on all the designs, planning and the necessary materials.
We both made some new designs.
These are not part of the curriculum of the Quilling program and reflect the additional features with Art Clay Paper Type.

Naturally a day like this includes relaxation.
A yummy lunch in Bilthoven at Bubbles & Blessings.
A vegetable omelet fits perfectly into both our healthy food program.

This month we continue with the re-development of the projects, so that we can clearly guide our students.
Another 4 weeks till the start. We are looking forward to it!!!
