
On Thursday, July 11, 2013 the nomination of the many different entries in the biannual recurring Silver Accessories Contest took place in the National Art Centre in Tokyo. This year are the themes "Beginning" and "Open Theme".
The next day, Friday, July 12, 2013 the judging of the various nominees took place.
This year, Astari Swatantri from Finland recieved the Grand Prix Award of Encouragement from Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, for her exquisite necklace "Coral". Ari, as we call her, is a former instructor from the network of Art Clay Benelux.
For the Benelux, five Dutch and two Belgian instructors have submitted pieces. They all came through the nomination round and recieved a "Award for Selective Work".
After evaluation by the jury, the winning pieces will be shown at the exhibition "Silver Accessories Contest" from 2 October to on October 6, 2013 at the National Art Centre - Tokyo Japan.
