Anual Instructorsday at "De Krekul"

Today, the annual Instructorsday is planned and held at a new location, namely Cultural and Creative Centre "De Krekul" in Oisterwijk. Everything is well prepared both by Craftlines B.V., as well as by the teachers, myself included. The other participating colleagues can have a fun day being creative and/or maintaining social and business contacts.

At 07.00 I leave Harderwijk, heading for De Bilt. From there I'll continue along with Renske. Fully loaded with kilns, dryers and tumblers we navigate to Oisterwijk.

Once there we install all the workshop materials. At 09.00 the first colleagues arrive. While enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, everyone is welcomed. This year Peter Venema, director of Craftlines B.V. is absent so we miss his usual welcoming speech. Elles Drost is there on behalf of Craftlines and has just as I, she’s not prepared, so we decide to omit the speech and start directly with the various workshops.

Some instructors are offering the workshops for today. Colleagues can choose from:

Inge Verbruggen:
-       Square Pearl Rings

Renske Dussel:
-       Ring Extravaganza
-       Decorative Balls

Edith van Leeuwen:
-       Turn Turn Turn

Mirjam Golverdingen:
-       Layered Pendant

Henriëtte van Battum:
-       Amuleto Azteca

At noon we have lunch with delicious sandwiches. At 17.00 we end the day, because we are kindly requested to leave the premises before 18.00. So, no time for sharing a drink, too bad!

We decide to go home and unlike this morning the trip goes somewhat differently. While leaving, the car of Frank Hupse doesn’t want to start. The few remaining brave women offer him a helping hand and together we push the bus outside the fence. Along the road again made an attempt, but unfortunately, Frank can’t get it to work. To make it worse, he even breaks his car key. We need help. He calls the ANWB road assistance and his girlfriend Jessica. She will come all the way from Nunspeet to Oisterwijk to bring the spare key.

We all suggest to keep him company, but that's pretty useless. The remaining food is left, we can leave without guilt. Of course we keep using WhattsApp to contact him, that’s how we are.

In the evening Frank places a message on facebook in the private group for ASC Instructors Benelux. He is back home, along with Jessica. Once arrived at Frank, she handed him the spare key and guess what? Starting and running! Hahaha.

Dear all, thanks for the great day, it was nice to see everyone present again.
See you next year!
