Studio "Nevada's Dream" will close its studio on June 1, 2021 !
I already saw similar reports from a number of fellow instructors in the private Facebook group. The pandemic and the associated lockdown make it difficult for a small business owner to survive financially. This also applies to me, more specifically the classroom in which I’ve received many colleagues, friends and customers.
I’ve decided to give this up, which means that from 1 June 2021 it will no longer be possible to follow a workshop or training at this location. This choice has certainly not been an easy one and yet, in line with my intended creative retirement, it now seems like the right decision. After all, it remains unclear for the time being when the world can start to move as before.
Until January 1, 2023 I will stay as a Teacher within the Art Clay Silver instructor network. Last year, Annemarie Klappe and me planned a visit to Japan to learn a new technique. At that time, this was postponed until further notice. As soon as the opportunity is offered to follow the technique, we do intend to teach it together, albeit at a location to be determined at that time.
For colleagues who would still like to follow a (supplement) training for the next 2 years? You can of course always contact me, perhaps we will find a suitable solution together.
With this message, I too will soon have a surplus of workshop materials. Colleagues who know me know roughly what is available and what condition it is in. Feel free to contact me if you can use anything else. I will continue to use my own tools and supplies to teach any masterclasses, otherwise everything will go away. Also the workshop table, chairs and display cases.
Thank you to everyone for the many fun creative hours you have spent with me in my studio over the past 15 years. I look back on it with a warm and satisfied feeling.
